Admin Portal: Checkout Privacy and Terms -
The privacy and terms of use will no longer be the same content used for both (1) user registration and (2) checkout experience. This has been broken out in Admin Portal for use. If no content is provided for the terms, there will be no required checkbox of accepting terms at checkout. Preselected configuration will work for both guest and registered users. Please note: that some brands have hardcoded values that may not show in admin portal at this time.

Recommended Settings for All Brands -
It is considered a best practice for a brand to streamline its enrollment and checkout processes. Brands are advised to incorporate Terms of Use for both creating an account and placing an order, particularly if the brand utilizes customer information for marketing and other analytical purposes. The industry is divided on whether customers should be explicitly required to opt-in or if terms should be pre-selected, with split opinions.

Bug Fix-Apple Pay Duplicate Orders -
The mobile app would infrequently allow for orders being paid with Apple Pay to submit duplicate orders of the exact same order and charge to customers. This would cause issues at store making 2x the food and customers upset about 2x the charges to their credit card payment done through Apple Pay. More details. -

IP Blacklisted Rules Enforced for Credit Card Attempts – Website and Mobile App-
Users who have been blacklisted for multiple failed credit card attempts or been manually inserted via a support desk request as a perma-ban are now being enforced. Several bug fixes and enhancements have been made to both support the website and app in blocking these users from submitting payments.
-
Coupons Apply by Weekday-
Previously coupon functionality did not honor Apply by Weekday settings for Online Ordering websites and mobile apps. This would result in customers selecting an offer for a specific weekday (eg: Whacky Wednesday Coupon) and in the checkout screen changing the fulfillment time to a future date (eg: Thursday). This user flow is most commonly a problem for website users who change their fulfillment time at checkout vs the start of the ordering process. The improved logic now will only allow users to redeem coupons on valid days of the week. An error message will be thrown when coupon is no longer valid. Mobile app item is still waiting development.

Wrong Item Removed from Cart- JIRA Tickets ECOMM-1936, ECOMM-1867
Issue occurred when a customer would attempt to remove an item from the cart, regardless of what item was selected, the top item from the cart would be removed. This caused issues where customers would either have to restart their entire order correctly or unintentionally purchase the wrong items. -
Prevent Duplicate Orders on Apple Pay- JIRA Ticket
An issue would occur a checkout website had Apple Pay enabled. This error resulted in duplicate orders from customers who were switching between payment methods of Credit Card and Apple Pay. When the order was finally submitted a duplicate order would generate and land at POS. The customer’s order confirmation screen would likely only load once, thus expecting a single order. Mobile apps require an App version update 4.8. An additional admin portal configuration can now be used to disable Apple Pay at system level if needed.
-
Customer Future Orders Use Coupon Beyond Expiration
Previous coupon functionality did not check if a coupons expiration date was valid when applied to a future order. This behavior was corrected in addition to the weekday logic enhancement.

IP Blacklist Manual Entries Honored (Websites) -
Support requested that the Online Ordering team manually block an IP address of bad actor user as a permanent ban “permaban”. Online Ordering would add users to blacklist IP table with a release date of significant length (ie: 1 year). This release date for the permaban was not being honored. Users were being released after 10 minutes.
