Use the Modifiers section to add or edit modifiers to customize menu orders, for example, adding extra toppings, ingredients, side orders, or substitutions. The Modifiers section also includes 5 tabs:

Adding a Modifier
Use the Modifiers Summary page in menu manager to set up modifiers on a menu. Follow the steps below to add a new modifier on the Modifiers Summary page.
Steps:
From RM, click Manage > Menu Manager > Enter the Menu Editor.
Go to the Modifiers > Mods Summary page.
From the screen, use the Group dropdown to select the group to edit.
Click Add Modifier. The Add Modifier Pop-up displays.
From the Add Modifier pop-up, use the Available Modifiers dropdown to select an existing modifier. The configurations below Available Modifiers will be automatically populated.
To create a new Modifier, enter the Modifier Name and select the appropriate checkboxes.
Use the Menu Category dropdown to select a Menu Category. The Report Group dropdown will remain the same unless manually changed.
Note: If modifiers are set up on the Groups tab in Menu Editor, all values default but can be changed.
Use the Tax Type dropdown to select a Tax Type.
Use the Modifier Category dropdown to select a Modifier Category.
Use the Maximum Quantity dropdown to select a Maximum Quantity.
On the Right side of the Add Modifier pop-up, check the Is Available Online box in the Online Options section to make the modifications available online. If the Is Available Online box is checked, then the option to edit or change the Online Name will be made available.
Beneath the Online Options section, use the boxes labeled Delivery Reminder, Kitchen Only, No Half/Half, No Kitchen Display, and Price Always Applies to allow each criterion to apply to the modifier that is being added.
Click Save when finished. The new modifier displays on the Mods Summary table.
Editing a Modifier
Steps:
From RM, click Manage > Menu Manager > Enter the Menu Editor.
Go to the Modifiers > Mods Summary page.
From the screen, use the Group dropdown to select the group to edit.
Click the pencil icon next to the menu modifier you want to edit. The Edit Modifier pop-up displays.
Click Update when finished.
Deleting a Modifier
Steps:
From RM, click Manage > Menu Manager > Enter the Menu Editor.
Go to the Modifiers > Mods Summary page.
From the screen, use the Group dropdown to select the group to edit.
Click the trash icon next to the menu item you want to delete.
Click Confirm to delete.
Changing Modifier Sequence
Use the Modifier section in menu manager to add or edit modifiers on a menu. Follow the steps below to edit the Kitchen Print Sequence and Online Visual Sequence.
Steps:
From RM, click Manage > Menu Manager > Enter the Menu Editor.
Go to the Modifiers > Modifier Sequences page.
From the screen, use the Group dropdown to select the group to edit.
Under Item Sequence, drag and drop to change the Modifier’s Kitchen Print Sequence and Online Visual Sequence.
Note: Kitchen Name is displayed in the Kitchen Print Sequence table, and Online Name is displayed in the Online Visual Sequence table.
Setting Up Excluded and Preselected Modifiers
Use the Modifier section in menu manager to add or edit modifiers on a menu. Follow the steps below to edit the excluded and preselected modifiers.
Steps:
From RM, click Manage > Menu Manager > Enter the Menu Editor.
Go to the Modifiers > Excluded and Preselected page.
From the screen, use the Group dropdown to select the group to edit.
From the Excluded & Preselected modifier grid, use the dropdown arrows to make your selections (Preselected, Excluded, No Subst, Display Preselect in Kitchen, No Subst/Display Preselect in Kitchen) or leave blank.
Note:
In “Modifiers > Excluded & Preselected“
"Preselected" => Show in POS and Online Ordering
“Excluded” => Excluded the modifier from the item
"No Subst" => Show in POS and Online Ordering, and No Substitution Credit
“Display Preselect in Kitchen" => Show in KDS, POS, and Online Ordering
“No Subst/Display Preselect in Kitchen” => Show in KDS, POS, Online Ordering, and No Substitution Credit
In “Items > Configuration” pop-up
“Show Preselect“ is just to pop up the modifiers in POS when the item is added to the order, which does not impact KDS or Online Ordering.
Click Save when finished.
Changing Size Exclusions
The Size Exclusions tab in Modifiers gives you the ability to remove (exclude) sizes from a menu modifier. Follow the steps below to display or remove the sizes of specific menu modifiers.
Steps:
From RM, click Manage > Menu Manager > Enter the Menu Editor.
Click the Modifiers > Size Exclusions page to display the Modifier's Size Exclusions screen.
From the Size Exclusions screen, use the Group dropdown to select the menu group. The Size Exclusions grid displays with Modifier Names.
Next to the appropriate Modifier Name, select the checkboxes of menu sizes that you do not want displayed on a menu.
Click Save when finished.
Exclude Item from Stores
Use the Excluded Stores page in Menu Manager to exclude a modifier from specific stores when these stores don’t offer it. Follow the steps below to exclude the modifier from select stores.
Steps:
From RM, click Manage > Menu Manager > Enter the Menu Editor.
Click the Modifiers > Excluded Stores page to display the Modifiers’ Excluded Stores screen.
From the screen, use the Group dropdown to select the group to edit.
Select the modifier by clicking the down arrow to expand it.
Once you have selected the modifier to exclude, the store list will be expanded, showing the stores that carry that modifier. To remove it from a store, click the box to red cross it.
Click Save Updates when finished.
A Confirmation message displays.
