What is the HUB App?

The HungerRush HUB App is a mobile application (iOS and Android) that gives restaurant operators a fast, on-the-go view of their business performance. It provides real-time access to sales, labor, orders, employee activity, and adjustments data — the same data available in Restaurant Management (RM/HUB), optimized for a mobile experience.

The app has three main tabs at the bottom of the screen: Overview, Manage, and Settings.

App How to Guide

Getting Started

Logging In

Open the app and sign in using the same email and password you use for Restaurant Management (HUB). Tap "Remember Me" to stay signed in on your device.

Troubleshooting: If you can't log in, verify your credentials work on the Restaurant Management web portal first. If they work there but not in the app, contact Support.

Selecting Stores

The store selector appears at the top-left of the Overview screen.

  • Single store: Tap the store dropdown and select one store. The dashboard and all drill-in screens will show data for that store only.

  • Multiple stores: Tap the store dropdown, check the boxes next to each store you want to include, then tap "Confirm." The dashboard will show combined data, and drill-in screens like "By Store" will break down performance across your selected stores.

  • Select All / Deselect All: Use these buttons at the top of the store list to quickly toggle all stores on or off.

  • Important: The number of stores you have selected affects your navigation flow throughout the entire app. See "How Store Selection Affects Navigation" below.

Selecting Date Ranges

The date selector is at the top-right of the Overview screen.

Available options:

  • Today — Current day's data

  • Yesterday — Previous day's data

  • WTD (Week to Date) — Based on your store's configured week start day

  • MTD (Month to Date) — From the 1st of the current month through today

  • Custom Date Range — Tap to open the calendar, select a start and end date, then confirm

Tip: When you select Custom Date Range, tap the calendar icon to open the date picker. You can select a single day or a date range.

How Store Selection Affects Navigation

This is a key concept that applies to every section of the app: Net Sales, Labor Cost, Orders, Employees, and Adjustments all follow the same pattern.

When you have 2 or more stores selected:

Tapping any dashboard tile takes you to a By Store view first. This shows the tile's metric broken out by each store (e.g., Net Sales by store, Order count by store, Employees Worked by store). From the By Store view, you can then navigate to the remaining sub-views for that section.

When you have 1 store selected:

The By Store view is skipped entirely — there's only one store, so there's nothing to compare. You go directly to the section's sub-views.

Why this matters for Support: If a customer says "I used to see a store comparison screen but now I don't," check how many stores they have selected. Switching from multiple stores to a single store will cause the By Store view to disappear. This is expected behavior, not a bug.

App Sections & Corresponding RM Reports

This table maps each screen in the Operator App to its corresponding report in Restaurant Management. If a customer or Support agent needs the full report with additional detail or export options, they can find it in RM under the report name listed below.

  • 1 store selected: Dashboard → Employee list

This section's behavior also changes based on the selected date range — specifically, whether the current active day is included.

By Store (Multi-Store only)

The first screen you see when 2+ stores are selected. Shows employee counts broken out by each store. The metrics shown depend on the date range:

  • Date range includes today: Each store shows both Employees Clocked In (currently on active shifts) and Employees Worked (completed shifts)

  • Date range does NOT include today: Each store shows Employees Worked only

Employee Detail

This screen shows a detailed view of all employees and their shift activity for the selected store and date.

At the top of the screen is a weekly calendar strip showing the days of the current week. The selected day is highlighted, and you can tap any day to view that day's employee activity. A "Back To Today" link in the top-right corner returns you to the current day quickly.

Below the calendar is a search bar and filter chips that let you filter the employee list by status:

  • All — Shows every employee for the selected day

  • Clocked In — Employees currently on an active shift

  • On Break — Employees currently on a break

  • Clocked Out — Employees whose shifts have ended

Each filter chip shows a count (e.g., "Clocked In (2)") so you can see at a glance how many employees are in each status.

Employee Cards

Each employee is displayed as a card showing:

Metric

Definition

Employee Name

The employee's full name

Labor Type

The role they are working (e.g., Server, Driver)

Status

Current status badge — Clocked In (teal), On Break (orange), or Clocked Out (coral)

Hours

For Clocked In employees: "Clocked in at [time]". For On Break and Clocked Out employees: the full shift time range (e.g., 4:30 - 6:30 pm)

Break Time

Total time spent on breaks (e.g., 15m on breaks)

Date-dependent behavior:

  • When viewing the current day (or a range that includes today): The filter chips will show counts for Clocked In, On Break, and Clocked Out. The list reflects real-time shift status.

  • When viewing a past date: All employees will show as Clocked Out since their shifts have already ended. The Clocked In and On Break filters will show zero or not appear.

  • Corresponding Report: Punch In Time (clock-in/out activity), Payroll Details (hours and earnings)

Manage Tab

The Manage tab contains quick actions for managing your stores.

DoorDash and UberEats (Delivery and Pickup)

If your store is integrated with DoorDash and/or UberEats, the Manage tab shows the current status of each channel for your selected store(s).

  • Toggle on/off: Tap the toggle next to a delivery channel to enable or disable it for that store.

  • Multi-store view: When multiple stores are selected, you will see each store listed with its DoorDash and UberEats status. You can toggle channels for individual stores or select channels to turn off for all stores at once.

  • If not integrated: If your store is not connected to DoorDash or UberEats, the corresponding channel will not appear.

Note: This is the same as the Delivery and Pickup Quick Actions available in Restaurant Management (HUB). Detailed steps for the RM version will be documented separately.

Settings Tab

The Settings tab allows you to log out of the app and sets your preference for Dark Mode, Light Mode, or the same as your phone’s settings.

Permissions Guide

Two RM/HUB permissions control what operators can see and do in the HUB Mobile App: Edit Delivery & Pickup and Show Labor. Both are set in RM/HUB on a Role or an individual User — the steps are identical.

Setting the permissions

  1. Log in at hub.hungerrush.com.

  2. Open Roles or Users in the left menu.

  3. Click the cog wheel for the role or user.

  4. Open the Security (A) tab, then Mobile (B).

  5. Set Edit Delivery & Pickup / Show Labor (C), then click Update.

Edit Delivery & Pickup

Controls whether an operator can turn delivery and pickup channels on or off. When off, channels are visible but read-only.

Permission ON CAN EDIT

Each channel (DoorDash, Uber Eats, HR Online Delivery & Pick-up) has a toggle, plus a Turn Off All button. Changes save back to the store.

03_permission_ON_delivery_and_labor.jpg06_app_delivery_ON_toggles.png

Permission OFF VIEW ONLY

Active channels show as read-only icons. Tapping a channel shows its status (e.g. “HR Pick-up is on”) but can’t change it — no toggles, no Turn Off All.

04_permission_OFF_delivery.jpg07_app_delivery_OFF_readonly.png

Show Labor

Controls whether labor cost figures appear in the app. When off, the Labor Cost card is hidden from the Overview — for operators who should see sales but not labor.

Permission ON LABOR VISIBLE

The Labor Cost card appears on the Overview — labor dollars, percentage, and trend — alongside Net Sales.

03_permission_ON_delivery_and_labor.jpg08_app_labor_ON_card_visible.png

Permission OFF LABOR HIDDEN

The Labor Cost card is removed. The Overview runs from Net Sales straight to Orders, Avg $/Order, Employees, and Adjustments.
