Report Purpose:

The Sales Summary Report provides a comprehensive daily breakdown of sales, payments, labor, and order activity. It is designed to give operators a clear snapshot of performance across multiple dimensions, including gross and net sales, discounts, payment methods, labor efficiency, and order types. This report supports financial reconciliation, labor management, and trend analysis over time.

Metric Definitions:

Total Sales = The total sales amount before discounts or adjustments.

Adjustments / Coupons = Discounts, coupons, or adjustments applied to reduce gross sales.

Gross Sales = Total sales after adjustments but including tax.

Tax = The total sales tax collected.

Net Sales = Gross sales minus tax.

Gift Cards (In/Out) = Value of gift cards sold or redeemed.

Delivery Fees = Fees charged for delivery orders.

Delivery Comp = Complimentary delivery charges waived.

Cash Receipts = Total cash received from sales.

Paid Outs / Deposits = Cash removed for deposits or other expenses.

Total Payments = Combined total of all payment methods collected.

Net Cash / Checks / Credit Cards = Breakdown of payments received by method.

Total Deposits = Deposits recorded for the day.

Deposits Diff / Effective O/S = Variance and outstanding differences in deposits.

Last Year Net = Comparative net sales for the same day and same week of last year.

$ Diff / % Diff = Variance in sales dollars and percentage versus the prior year.

Order Stats = Metrics including total orders, average order count, voids, and void amount.

Labor Stats = Includes labor hours, labor cost, percent of sales spent on labor, and net sales per labor hour.

Sales by Order Type = Net sales totals broken down by order type (e.g., Walk In, Pick Up, Delivery).
