January brought several improvements across payments, ordering reliability, and kitchen display stability. Most updates this month are fixes to things that were causing friction in day-to-day operations — receipts stopping, tips not reaching drivers, orders getting stuck.
New This Month
Debit Authorization Support
Your POS now supports debit authorization as a distinct payment type, giving you and your customers more flexibility at checkout — including correct tip capture on pre-authorized transactions.
Fundraiser Items Excluded from Surcharges
When customers contribute to a fundraiser or donation at the customer-facing display, those amounts are no longer included in surcharge calculations — so customers are not charged a fee on their charitable contribution.
Longer Delivery Addresses Supported
Street address fields now support up to 100 characters, so longer delivery addresses save and display correctly without being cut off.
Cleaner Loyalty Data for Online and Third-Party Orders
Incoming online and third-party orders that use shared or generic email addresses are now handled correctly — they will no longer be incorrectly linked to an existing loyalty customer in your system.
Fixes & Improvements
Ordering
- Fixed: Online, delivery, and third-party orders failing to activate at the POS — Orders were getting stuck and not appearing correctly at the terminal. Resolved across all order types including DoorDash, online, and deferred orders.
- Fixed: Split payments on orders with a comp'd item could get stuck as unpaid — If an order had a comped item and an order note, paying with a split payment could leave the order in an unpaid state. Fixed.
- Fixed: Errors when exiting the order screen quickly — Navigating away from the order screen before it fully loaded could cause a crash. Now handled gracefully.
- Fixed: Driver Track not syncing correctly after reopening a business date — Driver Track records now sync properly when a business date is reopened.
Payments & Tips
- Fixed: Delivery tips from Scan-to-Pay not appearing in driver cash drawer — Tips collected through Scan-to-Pay on delivery orders were not being associated with the driver's drawer at cashout, causing tip discrepancies. Now fixed.
- Fixed: Tip amounts not calculating correctly on the Quick Credit button — Gratuity was missing from Quick Credit payments. Tip amounts now write correctly.
Kitchen Display
- Fixed: Kitchen display flashing or showing errors on some stations — A data issue was causing KDS screens to flash or display errors intermittently. Now resolved.
- Fixed: Kitchen display crashing in production item mode — Navigating to the kitchen display in production item mode could throw an error. Fixed.
Receipts & Printing
- Fixed: Credit card merchant receipts intermittently stopping — Merchant receipts would sometimes stop printing entirely, requiring a full POS restart to recover. This intermittent failure is now fixed.
- Fixed: Daily Snapshot Report crashing — The Daily Snapshot Report was crashing for some users. Now stable.
Reporting & Display
- Fixed: UI layout issues at 1366x768 resolution — Modifier buttons and other UI elements were overlapping or hard to use at this resolution. Corrected.
- Fixed: DoorDash delivery tracking links being cut off — Tracking URLs were being truncated, making them unusable. The field now supports full-length links.
