March was a big month for the customer-facing display and payment accuracy. Tip and signature capture now happens right on the CFD screen, credit card batch settlement resolutions, and several long-standing payment and printing issues were resolved.

New this month

Tip and signature on the customer display
Once the order is ready for payment, customers select their tip and sign directly on the CFD. They choose from your configured tip percentages or enter a custom amount, sign with their finger, and pick how they'd like their receipt — all without touching the card reader or the cashier's screen. Payment still happens on the card reader as usual, but the tip and signature experience is now where it belongs: on the customer's side of the counter.

Surcharge accuracy on split and taxable payments
Credit card surcharges are now calculated based on the actual payment amount rather than the full order total — so when a customer pays with multiple methods or a taxable surcharge applies, the surcharge amount is always correct.

DoorDash Drive orders now include item size
Item size information is now passed along with DoorDash Drive orders, reducing errors when size matters for prep or packaging.

Fixes & improvements

Payments & surcharges

  • Fixed: CC Manager batch alert at login — Users with CC Manager permissions now see a notification at login when credit card batches are unbatched and pending settlement.
  • Fixed: QR Code delivery payments not flagged as paid to driver — Deliveries paid via QR Code were missing the driver payment flag, which could cause reconciliation issues. This is now resolved.
  • Fixed: Auth token service outage (March 21) — A production issue that prevented POS devices from authenticating during peak traffic has been fixed. Two code defects that caused cascading failures under load have been corrected.

Customer-facing display (CFD)

  • The customer display now stays in sync throughout the payment flow — As cashiers move through payment type selection and surcharge steps, the CFD automatically shows the right screen at every stage of checkout.
  • The customer display stays connected as screens change — The CFD maintains a persistent connection throughout a transaction, so content transitions smoothly without interruption.

Ordering & timeclock

  • Fixed: Timeclock fields accepting typed input instead of dropdown-only — The Employee Name and Labor Type fields in Timeclock Edit now correctly restrict input to dropdown selections only.
  • Fixed: Tools and dashboard accessible after manager logout — A security issue where staff could access restricted screens after a manager clocked out has been resolved.

Receipts & printing

  • Fixed: POS crash when QR code and split receipts were both enabled — A crash that occurred when both the QR code payment option and split receipt printing were active at the same time has been fixed.
