The guest scans the QR code on their POS receipt or directly in the DriverTrack app.

The guest can select from a pre-set list of tip percentages or add a custom amount.

Then choose the payment type, either credit/debit card or Apple Pay.

The guest then enters their credit/debit card information.

If they would like a digital receipt, they have the option to add their email address.

Once the information is complete, they tap "Pay Now."

Do I have to use Scan to Pay for Dine-in and Delivery?

No. You can choose to offer QR codes on printed receipts, in the Driver Track app, or both — whatever fits your operation best.

Is Scan to Pay a good fit for my restaurant?

Yes—if you want to speed up payments, reduce manual handling, and give guests a fast, contactless way to pay.

Do I need special hardware?

No. Scan to Pay works with your existing printers and the Driver Track app. Guests simply use their own smartphones to scan and pay.

Will my staff need additional training?

Very little. Staff hand out receipts or show Driver Track as usual — guests complete payment on their own device.

Driver Track for Delivery

How does Scan to Pay work with Driver Track?

When your driver delivers the order, they display a QR code in the Driver Track app. The guest scans the code to complete payment instantly and securely from their phone—no cash handling or manual card entry required.

What if my driver or guest doesn’t have internet or cell service?

Both the driver and guest need an active internet or cellular connection to complete payment. If service isn’t available, the driver can accept cash instead.

Payments & Tips

What payment types are supported?

Scan to Pay accepts all major credit and debit cards, and Apple Pay. Payments are routed through your existing online ordering payment processor.

Will the payment total update when a guest adds a tip?

Yes. The total automatically updates to include the selected gratuity before the guest confirms payment.

Can a guest accidentally pay more than once?

No. Once a guest completes payment, the check is automatically closed in your POS. After that, no additional payments can be made, and the Scan to Pay screen becomes inaccessible.

Are Scan to Pay transactions secure?

Yes. Payments are processed through your online ordering payment processor using the same secure infrastructure as other HungerRush payments.

Reporting & Fees

How will Scan to Pay transactions appear in my POS reports?

Payments processed through Scan to Pay appear as credit card transactions in your POS reports and payment records.

Are Scan to Pay transactions considered card-present or card-not-present?

They’re processed as card-not-present transactions because the payment happens on the guest’s device rather than at a physical terminal.

Will Scan to Pay transactions have higher processing fees?

Possibly. Card-not-present transactions typically carry slightly higher processing fees than traditional in-person payments. Many restaurants find the time savings and improved guest experience make it worth it.
