To disable 10 digit  phone number look up, we will first need to set a default time. First you will log into the POS.

From here you click on config.

 Then select system.

You will be brought to the system configuration screen.

Click customer on the top of the screen.

 If you wanted to automatically put in the area code, you would put it in the right hand side under default area code. If left empty it will not auto fill.

Next select install settings at the top right 

In order to disable 10 digit phone numbers, you want to deselect the ten digit phone numbers 

With it enabled when you do a customer search by phone number 

The area code is required to search

If the option is disabled

When you do a customer search by phone number it will only require 7 digits without the area code.
