Step by Step Instructions

This menu edit guide will go over the Menu Tab in the menu editor.

To get to the menu you editor you click on Order.

Click on Edit menu.

Right click on a group and select edit group.

You will come to the page below, click on the Menu tab at the top.

You will now be on a page that looks like this. You can see your Menu Name, the Date and time it was created and when the menu was last changed and by who across the top under the Tab bar.

We are now going to Go through each item and describe what each item does in detail. Please note that any changes that you make here will apply to the whole menu.

a.       Allow UPC Items- This allows you to use the Universal Price Code of any item by scanning it or putting the numbers into the system.

b.       Manual Quantity- This will allow a Keyboard to pop up to enter the number of that items instead of hitting the repeat item button that many times

c.       Use Pairs Pricing- Allows you to mark an item that is the same item and have the price show in the original items price. Example: Buy 1 Large Pizza for 12.95, get a 2nd Large Pizzas for a total of $20.00.

d.       Allow KDS Priority- This allows your to make an item appear at the top of the kitchen display. Mostly this is used when you have things that are time sensitive.

e.       Allow Time Pricing- This will allow you to set up time pricing. The Time Pricing button in the sub menu will be Grey until you check this box. Please see the Time Pricing Guide for help setting up time pricing.

f.        Large Group Buttons- This will make the Group buttons very large as demonstrated below.

g.       Allow Item Countdown- This will allow you to place a count down of an item when you have only a certain number of that item left.

h.       Use Small Group Buttons- This will make your group buttons small as demonstrated below.

i.         Show Default Preferences- This will allow the system to automatically populate the preference. For Example if a customer orders a Caesar salad it automatically puts the Caesar dressing in as the dressing for the salad. If you want to change this, you would just click on the preference and it will allow you to change it.

j.         Allow Preference Modifiers- This allows you to modify the preferences if there is a preference that can be modified. For Example I want a baked potato with butter and sour cream but I also want that baked potato to have bacon bit on it. The baked potato would be a preference and the butter, sour cream and the bacon would be modifiers to that baked potato.

k.       Allow Auto Quantity Printing- This will allow your kitchen ticket to show as a number followed by X, instead of the same item printing 3 times. For Example if I want 3 pepperoni pizzas then when it go’s to the kitchen it will show 3X Pepperoni pizza instead of Pepperoni Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza.

l.         Allow Long Item Description- Expands the Number of Characters there are allowed to be in a description of an item from 175 to 255.

m.     Allow Custom Group Sequence- This will allow you to set up a custom group sequence which allows you to change the menu base upon time or labor type. See the Custom Group Sequence Guide to set up.

n.       Verify Inventory Waste for Voids- This will ask you if the items have been made already when voiding an order or item. If you check yes, then it will automatically set the items to the waste in inventory.

o.       Display Notes for Open Price Items- This will allow you show notes for the items that are marked as an open priced item.

p.       Require Approval  for Open Price Items- This will make it so that when someone rings in an open priced item it will require a manager to approve that item.

q.       Allow Group Multiple Items Requirements- This allows a menu group to be created that requires more than one item to be ordered within that group for the order to be accepted.

r.        Allow Points- This is no longer used since we have a different Loyalty program.

s.        Extra Modifier Limit- This will be the maximum number of items that the customer can order as extra. If the limit is 4 then I can only do 4X the pepperoni on a pizza.

t.        Start Date- This is the date that the Menu Was applied to the location.

u.       Expiration Date- This is the date which the Menu will no longer be active.

v.       Minimum Open Price- This is the amount that an open price item must be for the item to be allowed.

w.     The Lite box- This will allow you to change how the Lite note shows on the receipts or kitchen tickets.

i.      Lt- The tickets will show Lt when you select a modifier that is lite.

ii.      Lite- The tickets will show Lite when a modifier is selected as lite.

x.       Extra box- This will allow you to select how you want your extra to show when a customer wants extra of an item or modifier.

i.      2X- The tickets will show 2X when the customer orders a modifier as extra.

ii.      Xtra- The tickets will show Xtra when the customer orders a modifier as extra.

y.       Side box- This will allow you to select how you want items that the customer wants on the side to show.

i.      SD- The tickets will show SD when the customer wants a modifier on the side.

ii.      Side- The tickets will show Side when the customer wants a modifier on the side.

aa.   Group Button Text Size- This allows you to select the text size for the group buttons.

bb.   Menu Categories- This is a filter of the menu items and the modifiers for an item.

cc.    Modifier Categories- This is where you would set up a new category for modifiers.

i.      Add New- this is where you would add a new category

Click on Add New

Enter the Name of a new Category.

Then click OK.

  ii.      Rename- This allows you to rename a current modifier category.

Click the category that you want to rename to highlight it.

Type in the new category name.

Then click Ok.

 

iii.      Delete- This will allow you to get rid of a modifier category that is currently on the menu.

Click on the category that you want to delete so that it is highlighted.

Press the delete button.

A popup will appear asking if you want to delete that modifier category, select yes.

iv.      Online Options- This will allow you to edit the online modifier options. This will open a new Screen as shown below.

v.      Select KDS Color- This will allow you to change the color that the modifiers appear on the KDS. The following box will pop up to allow you to choose which color you want.

vi.      Warning Prompt- This is what will show when no required modifiers were selected.

vii.      Select Color- This will allow you to change the color that a modifier appears once the modifier has been selected. This will pop up a new window that will allow you to select the color of the modifiers. When it says In use that means that the color is already being used.

viii.      Use button color- This allows you to select when the button color is applied.

dd.   Rename Menu- This will allow you to change the name of your current Menu.

i.      When you select this tab a new screen will pop up.

ii.      Simply type in the New Name for your menu.

iii.      Click OK

 

ee.   Group Print Sequence- This allows you to select the order in which the items print on the kitchen tickets or show on the kitchen display.

i.      Simply Select the Item you want to move to a different place so that it is highlighted.

  ii.      Click on the Up or Down arrows to move it to a new place.

 

iii.      Then click Save.

ff.      UPC Items- This is where you will store the UPC’s that you use in your restaurant. For help with setting up UPC items please call technical support.

gg.    Time Pricing- This is where you would set up the time pricing if you wanted to use time pricing. See the Time pricing Guide for instructions on setting up time pricing.
