Step By Step Instructions

Preferences are single selection options associated with specific items within a group, usually used to compete an order for an item the requires a side selection. An example would be a side salad that has the options of Ranch, Bleu Cheese, or Italian dressing.

 

To access the preference configuration section, we will navigate to the following Orders > Edit menu > preferences:

From here you will see the edit menu section we will then click on the preferences tab shown below:

 I have labeled points of importance for preference properties and setup each will be explained below:

Now we can create the preference members associated with the preference. These are the options that will be selected to complete the order. Below is what the preference member properties and set up looks like:

Below is an example of what an item with a configured preference may look like during the order taking process. I have created a preference for the Chef salad with multiple dressing options.

As you can see, I selected the Chef salad item and the POS prompted for the selection of salad dressings. I then chose the House Ranch option and that completed the order.
