The Basic Steps for Trouble Shooting a Credit Card Reader

Unplug the credit card reader from the power.

While it is unplugged from the power unplug the credit card reader from the station.

While unplugged wait 10 seconds.

Plug the credit card reader back into the station

Plug the credit card reader back into the power

Wait until the credit card reader shows your stores name or “welcome”. The Reader will go through several screens during bootup including “initializing” and “Updating”

If the credit card reader is still not working Restart the station if it is a substation.

*****Do not Restart station1 if you have customers in your Restaurant. Doing this will cause the other stations to be temporarily unavailable to be used. *****

Do a test transaction once HungerRush POS loads up fully.

If the problem persists then call the Technical Support line at 877-738-7444.

Please also note that if the credit card reader is asking for a password, that means that the credit card reader needs to be replaced. Technical support does not have a password to give you to fix that.
