The Basic Steps for Trouble Shooting a Credit Card Reader

  • Unplug the credit card reader from the power.

  • While it is unplugged from the power unplug the credit card reader from the station.

  • While unplugged wait 10 seconds.

  • Plug the credit card reader back into the station

  • Plug the credit card reader back into the power

  • Wait until the credit card reader shows your stores name or “welcome”. The Reader will go through several screens during bootup including “initializing” and “Updating”

  • If the credit card reader is still not working Restart the station if it is a substation.

  • *****Do not Restart station1 if you have customers in your Restaurant. Doing this will cause the other stations to be temporarily unavailable to be used. *****

  • Do a test transaction once HungerRush POS loads up fully.

  • If the problem persists then call the Technical Support line at 877-738-7444.

  • Please also note that if the credit card reader is asking for a password, that means that the credit card reader needs to be replaced. Technical support does not have a password to give you to fix that.
